One World One Heart

I conjured up my magic carpet (aka: courage) to participate in the One World One Heart event on the inpiration of Kathryn Antyr over at Collage Diva. I am pretty new to blogging – and have enjoyed meeting Kathryn and a few others.
I am attracted to the idea of making more friends in ‘bloglandia’…so I decided to give this a try. Honestly the idea of participating in an event with nearly 1,000 other bloggers is a bit intimidating, but in honor of putting myself out in our one world with all my heart…here I go.

Lisa Swifka of A Whimsical Bohemian started this event in 2007 with about 90 participants. Last year there were 911 participants representing 28 countries involved in One World One Heart. And it looks like there should be about as many again this year. WOW!

Swifka describes it best: One World One Heart ‘transcends geographical location, socio economics, political affiliation, religious beliefs……it’s a coming together like the giant community we are on this planet. If only it took a simple giveaway to create PEACE everywhere, in the mean time here we give from our hearts. We are not solving the worlds problems nor are we curing anything nor are we changing the world. We are merely generating a closer community between humans through blogging. What more could I ask for, my little idea has surpassed my wildest dreams of what it could become.’

With your simple comment to this post, I offer you the opportunity to win one of my hand printed (from my lettering) and hand bound journals. It is 80 pages (divided into four 20 page sections) made with my heart, and with recycled and alternative fiber papers. It lays flat to write in, and has a pocket in the back to hold any collected goodies. My journal entry at the top of this post is done with colored pencils in one of my journals.
