We spent the first ten days on Hvar. It is a beautiful island and town on the Dalmatian coast. We had so much fun swimming and exploring.
…and cooking (and eating) fresh seafood in the little place where we stayed, and some fun restaurants, too.
…and hanging out on our little balcony – drinking wine that we bought from a barrel in town.
The people there were so lovely…some new friends even made us dinner one evening.
Croatia was one of my favorite places. It was beautiful and the people were so wonderful.
Summer of 2000 was spent in several countries throughout Europe. We traveled mostly by train with our Eurail Pass (1st class – doncha know that when you’re an American past a certain age that 1st class is your only choice). We enjoyed first class some times, including the stares that came from the business folks when we wandered into their space looking like, well, bohemian travelers. We also loved going to the end of the train line – to Briancon (France) and Canfranc (Spain) – which didn’t offer a first class option.
I know I have been remiss in sharing my world travels this summer, but I will share a few more adventures before the year is out.
Thanks for coming along!
